A little look back on my art from this year

Reflection:
Over the year I have really developed my art style. I think the project I'm most proud of is thee inspirational woman grid drawing. I'm proud of this project because of my use of shading with different types of pencils and how much it actually looks like Grace Kelly. I gained a lot of confidence as an artist from this project because I really felt good about how it turned out and I really felt like I improved my use of different pencils.
I think the project that challenged me the most was my independent project. I think this was because I worked with a new medium, clay, which I had no experience with. Although my sculpture cracked and fell apart because I didn't add enough water, I overcame this by adding reinforcements and filling the cracks with paint.
My favourite project was body casting. I think this is because I got to put a lot of my own personality into the project. I got to collage all my favourite book quotes and do them in my own cursive and that was really special to me because I love writing in cursive and books.I also dripped red paint at the top as a nod to my love of Alfred Hitchcock movies which are mostly horror or crime related. Out of all the projects this year I feel like this one represents me the best.
My least favourite project this year was the micro macro painting. I think this was because I don't particularly enjoy painting. I'm also quite a perfectionist and I spent a lot of time obsessing over the colours and proportions being off which caused me a lot of stress.
Next year I would like to work more with watercolour. Specifically I would like to watercolour portraits. I like this style a lot but haven't really tried so I would like to go outside my comfort zone and challenge myself.

From this year in art I have really learned how to manage my time. In my independent project I learned how to schedule my time so that I wouldn't feel stressed out by the workload. I think this will be valuable for all projects in the future so that I have time for everything.
