I chose the painting because I really like the impressionist style. I really like the way the paint looks very messy but looks like a photo at the same time. I don't really like the position of her arms, or the way her face looks in the painting. I think they just look a bit messy and awkward. I think if a little more detail was added to her face it would make her look better. I think it was fairly difficult trying to recreate the style because a lot of effort goes into a piece seeming effortless or messy.

It took a long time to draw the woman in the painting right. I think this was because it was difficult to get the proportions of the body to look realistic. I really struggled drawing the arm because it is in an awkward position. I chose this part of the painting because I really wanted to capture the essence of the painting and the woman is the main part of the painting. I think the colour scheme is melancholy because there is a lot of cool colours which can make the painting look cold or sad. The painting reminds me of Cinderella because of the colour of her dress also just because of the scene it reminds me of when CInderella gets locked in the attic. I think the painter uses the style of painting to really just paint a simplistic image that could be anyone so that more people can connect with the painting. I think the the painting reflects my personality because the person looks like me and it represents my love of books because it looks like a scene out of a fairytale.
